I wanted this poster to develop an interesting twist on the classic 1939 movie while maintaining vintage time-period characteristics. The Wizard of Oz has become the most viewed film in history and is a true classic too almost everyone. I wanted to develop a creative composition centralizing on the most well known antagonist the “Wicked Witch of the West”. This poster serves as a true nostalgic piece that incorporates vintage styled typography, flourishes, and historical compositional influences
Alfred Hitchcockʼs 1960 film, “PSYCHO” is renowned to many critiques as Hitchcock's greatest film. I wanted this poster to be suspenseful and convey a nostalgic feel about the iconic thriller.
The Bride of Frankenstein (Original Film Poster)
A true classic horror visually depicting possibly the most recognizable couple of Hollywood. The films release in 1935 is pinnacle for fans of horror and classic films. I wanted this poster to feel time-honored and yet maintain some contemporary stylistic elements.
Black Swan (Original Film Poster) For this poster I wanted to centralize on Natalie Portman’s iconic portrayal of the black swan in the film. My goal was to give a sinister look to the poster while creating a dramatic feel, and embracing a level of sophistication.
For this poster I wanted to focus on the most iconic antagonistic force ever of cinema history. Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers continue to be the constant for George Lucas's Star Wars films and has made an ever lasting influence spanning across decades. "The Dark Side" poster was extremely fun to craft from start to finish. I started this poster almost completely monochromatic to produce dramatically accurate tonal renderings, and then applied a large palette of color.
For the piece the goal was to switch it up a bit and focus on strong design elements as well as illustrative. This piece is unique because it serves as informational and artistic. I wanted the essence of Spider-Man to capture the nostalgic issues of the 60’s/70’s. 🕸🕷
When creating this poster the key element was to capture the esthetic elegance and compositional beauty that is often seen in the Art Nouveau movement, such as in the late great Alphonse Mucha's brilliant work. Stylistically speaking, the biggest goal was captivating emotion through color, composition, detail, texture, and conveying unique typography. I approached this poster with a somewhat time-period oriented limited color palette primarily using 4 colors. Secondary elements are essential and for this I felt like the palm tree leaves and hibiscus flowers were somewhat signature to Lana Del Rey's cinematic, elegant, west coast vibes.
Blink- 182 is one of the most iconic trios of all time and have managed to emerge punk on the forefront of pop culture. Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker have become a household name with youth culture for over two decades and continue to influence huge amounts of fans.
In this poster I wanted to play off of there iconic rabbit imagery in my own unique blend and execution. The ultimate goal was to create a tribute poster that would clash the elements of punk, misfits, yet still have a popular appeal (symbolic to how most view their music). Meticulously illustrating the all the elements were at most importance and especially within the composition and roses (see detail crops).
The Great Gatsby (Original Film Poster) When creating this poster I wanted to bring to life the complexity and vibrance of the Art Deco style. This poster I based off one of my favorites the iconic 2013 film rendition of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1925 classic. I wanted to maintain a somewhat effective limited color pallet for each element.
